Steamed Egg with Minced Meat and Tofu
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- A small amount of ground meat
- 1 block of tofu
- Salt
- Light soy sauce
- Oyster sauce
- White sugar
- Water
- Cornstarch water
Steps
1. Prepare the ingredients. Choose tender tofu.
2. Cut the tofu into small cubes and place them at the bottom of the steamer (set aside 4-5 pieces for later).
3. Crack 2 eggs into a bowl, add a pinch of salt, and whisk well. Add an equal amount of cooled boiled water, mix, and strain the mixture. For a smoother texture, adjust the egg-to-water ratio to 1:2. Using cooled boiled water rather than cold water is recommended, and straining is crucial!
4. Pour the egg mixture into the bowl lined with tofu.
5. Place the bowl in the food steamer and steam for 10 minutes.
6. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the ground meat until fragrant.
7. Add light soy sauce, oyster sauce, white sugar, and a small amount of water. Thicken with a little cornstarch water.
8. By now, the surface of the steamed egg should be mostly set. Add the sautéed ground meat and the tofu pieces you set aside earlier.
9. Steam for another 10 minutes.
10. Garnish with chopped green onions. The steamed egg with minced meat and tofu is ready!
