G52 Two-Tier Electric Food Steamer with Waterless Ceramic Steam Pot - Bundle Offer
No, the steamer lid is not required when using the Waterless Ceramic Steam Pot.
Small gaps between the lid and the pot can occur naturally during the ceramic firing process, as ceramic materials shrink slightly during firing. In addition, a slight gap allows steam to escape during cooking, so the lid may not fit completely flush with the pot. This is within the normal range of ceramic production and does not necessarily indicate a manufacturing defect.
To check that your steam pot is functioning properly, we recommend running one steaming cycle with water only. If the pot produces broth normally and there is no excessive steam escaping from the sides, it is generally functioning as intended, and the slight gap should not affect normal use.
